Issue #2, February 1976

….The Modern Lovers' album is now available through the mail, when it arrives put it on and dance to all those old (& great) memories…..We know it's belated but Happy Birthday Ed Hood, even though the years are catching up with him that doesn't stop Ed from thinking he can still have every sute young boy in town, keep trying Ed……It seems the lead guitarist for Reddy Teddy has traded in his grandmother's kimono for a cut off nun's habit he stold from a bitchy Mother Superior, what's next Sister Matthew?….1st Annual Ed Night was Feb 14 but no one remembers what happened….We hear Jon Macey's sexual prowess has now been questioned, watch out girls, he may be out to prove there should be no questions asked!!……Johana Mild….ooops Wild seems to be fading further and further into the background, what's the matter now , Troy?…..First Prize still goes to Somerville, the girls there will never fail us….Willie Alexander seems to be forming a new stage show, he's into throwing his clothes around, especially into the drummer's faces, watch out Willie your time is gonna come….One of us recently got to see Andy Paley's juke box, that wasn't the only great thing we got to see that night….Fox Pass is working on their up and comaing single ( it seems to be the latest fad) their selection is "Prized Possession" b/w "There You Were", they really are out to make the girls cry…For all of you who still aren't sure, that really is John Morse's picture, & not Steve Tyler's, in the Feb issue of Rock Scene Magazine….As to the question of where The Boize are, they're in the studio working on their new single (see what we mean?) the songs will be "Ecstacy" a new number and "I'll Take You" an old Boize tune we all know and love, but th y still won't be back on stage till they get all those new songs straight…..It seems another of those Fox Pass boys is dangerous, we've been told to stay away from those closets if you're with their drummer Jules, be careful girls!….As for new bands, try and catch The Inflicktors, Gary ex-Radio Heart is drumming….The Mezz seem to be having drummer problems, their latest gem Pearly Rock, while in another of his drunken rages, kicked his foot through a door. Now how is Pearly to play with a broken foot?…which one of those sweet young things called up the fire trucks on you? Hmmmm, Ed?….Believe it or not Celebration has made a change, though basically the same, of course, they now have a new guitarist but they're trying to hide that too….& these boys(?) recently did the opening of a new suburban rock'n'roll club that will soon be importing other Boston bands…we hear Mickey Clean has a new girlfriend, good luck honey, keep your eyes on that boy!…Steve Seznick seems to think Mickey is big stuff (how true!, right girls?), we hear he called Mickey the best thing since Lou reed….Speaking of Steve, he certainly has screwed us all this time, he's got everyone driving by or calling up his Plymouth Rock club to see if all those bookings are real or imaginary, we're beginning to think the whole deal is imaginary!…that's what he gets for choosing B.U. Convention goers over a rock'n'roll audience, better luck next weekend Steve….. Nowadays Wiilie Loco's working hard on his new 45, but he takes time off every Wednesday night to stay home with Al L. Drake to watch his fave show, Baretta…if the TV's out of whack he stays up in his room to play his suspenders, either way it sure looks like fun, right Loco? …Too bad Third Rail's Valentines Day gig didn't turn out so well, they were fired after the third song, but we 're sure there's someone out there who loves you, don't worry girls boys…..We're wondering, is Charlie of Live Lobster fame still doing his folkie trip upstairs at The Rat? Never should have left the band Charlie…As for the new Mezzette, mention your favorite tune and she'll do her own rendition at your table, you won't even have to ask, not a bad voice though….Some of The Kids have finally shown up now in a new band called The Nervois Eaters…Goofy, is that you?…We've been told that Rock Scene Magazine will soon be doing a spread on all our wonderful Boston rock'n'roll bands…It's about time someone finally noticed!!!
