Sonntag 25 Feb 2024. took the MTA to Ball Square, Somerville; Kelly's diner is excellent but the line was out the door at High Noon! BUT Head West (NOT east!) and i found the NEW Stereo Jack's! DO shoppe there! Boxes under the albums of one dollar 45s! I hit the '50a (Jerry Lee Lewis) and country: "Best Bette" COULD be "A woman half My age" by Kitty Wells; proof that it werent God made "Honky Tonk Wimmen"!....

Tuesday, March 5, 2024 Freitag 1 March 2024; saint david's day. Mad Painter practice. Not ONE note of Badfinger was played on dis Welsh holiday but a tri-fecta of Uriah Heep kovers dat had my "Head in '73"! in attendance: alex gitlin: keys/vocals and MOORE new songs (one written with artificial intelligence or lack thereof!) plus Gee Julie on vocals; schmel herbie hind on guitar; me-bass; Al hendry-drums. cant remember much else but i was rather animated with cup of coffee, next practice is Ides of March. Schmel herbie hind gave me da concert report as he drove the RIGHT way down a one way street, so Ides of march, middle east DO go see Gretchen Shae; already reviewed her new non-KnockUps band in BGN; whether I'm "Sittin' here standin'" remains to be seen (aint nuthin' better watchin' Chocolate watchband on a black-n-white tv in a south carolina trailer gittin' dressed in Marine drag to defend the country agin THE ENEMIES (which, from Riot on sunset strip, would be Bufffalo NY's own Cory Wells PRE-Dog Night band!)"

sonntag 3 march 2024. 0800 WARSH and more REELZ; this tyme: Van halen(and BAD wigs-ed)! Besides dose Nederlanders brudders "Livin' in da USA" and gittin' into musik coz of da beatles, I shall fastforward to the Sammy Hagar era. "One of Eddie Van halen's favourite bands was Montrose";AGREED! 1985, Johnny and Jumper Cables WASTED during practice, we DID discover,during Ronald reagan and Flock of haircuts that....we all liked Montrose! If only the band had been Eddie and the Jumper Cables....(David Lee Roth born Bloomington Indiana, Gismo world headquarters!

sonntag 3 march 2024. 1100; turnt off WHRB blues show and Son House, then "Truck on tyke" to meet Gee Julie at Bom Dough,which had a line out da door, so instead opted for brunch at Turing Tavern. den, we "Kept on Truckin'" to High Energy Vintage. bought $20 worth of couple-three dollar 45s but "My Best Bette": "Goin' Back" b/w "Change Is Now" by da Byrds. NEVER saw a copy in my LIFE and three bucks! released 20 0ctober 67 from their underrated Notorious Byrds Brothers album in between "Lady Friend" ('67) and "you aint goin' nowhere" ('68). before "Lady Friend", IN '67, some teen show,I first heard "Have you seen her face", so obviously this 1968 Byrds 45 was post-my cuzzin Crosby and post-hits, but still classic!".....

Freitag 8 march 2024. album implanted on turntable this week: Ray Pillow's Slippin' around with ray pillow 1972 album on Mega. $1.99 from somerville grooves, a lockdown purchase. reasons i bought it: Ray's pompadour and vest! (cf. to my father's 1952 Cooley High, detroit yearbook photo; other Cooley High alum wuz Jimmy Hoffa's son and MC5's wayne kramer. (photo). The sound,musically, is that ole Bakersfield sound ala Buck Owens whom I usedta watch on Hee_haw with my "ant" (Ma's sister AND cuzzin!). Thus, "excuse me,i think i got a heartache" by Buck is on here.remember: with "act naturally", Ringo and his majestic nose wuz a Buck fan! "Slippin' 'round" is also on here; I had a $2.99 casette of Ernest Tubb doin' that, bought about '89 at the STRAWBERRIES that wuz inside the GARDEN; did I play it on my WALKMAN? Speakin' of such, Ma got suspiciois of my father/her cuzzin "Slippin' 'round" when he'd comb his hair to take out the garbage (not me 'n' my knotty dreads,mon!). all them cheatin' songs I can sing da lyrics to that Schmel Herbie Highland hit "trickfucked"! BUT, even better: "what's a nice guy like me doin' here"? intro is a IV-V-I JUST like "personality crisis" slowed down! I DO enjoy playing along with this...$1.99 fer a Ray Pillow album and three dollars more coulda bought a 1982 case of Blanchard's beer....vinyl lasts longer!".
