Sonntag 14 April 2024. Mad Painter recording at Tom Hamilton,
Alex Gitlin on keys, me as Greg Lake, AL
Hendry as Palmer. recorded a cover of Uriah Heep's "Circle
of Hands" and then original "Shadow of the Words".
my notes say I channeled Jack Casady in Jefferson Airplane's "Spare
Chaynge" (Bathing at Baxers) but Alex Gitlin wuz channeling
Nicky Hopkins on "edward the mad shirt grinder" by quicksilver!
ALex sez we almost got another album in da can: happy! (as a clown!)

monntag ides of april 2024. Let me mention a 99 cent charley
pride album i got in 2020 lockdown at Somerville Grooves.
Songs of Pride...Charley That Is a september 1968 release,
though that month, for me, was the first two Beatles capital albums
plus the brand new "Hey Jude" 45. A 45 from the album
"The easy part's over" b/w "the right to do wrong"
was a april 1968 release but for my 12th birthday, I was playing
Army with my sixth grade schoolmates. WNYR,Rochester NY wuz da
redneck country station, but I missed this part of Chaz's career,
THOUGH, hidden gem on side two: "Both of Us Love You"!
Yep, Chaz's love interest is "in love with herself...her
beautiful self!"...NINE years before i heard the Pistols
                "No Feelings!"...Chaz wuz a moddafockin' trend-setter!

day of Thor 18 april 2024. 0830 or so, diesel cafe,
jolted out of "talkin' wid micelf": "have love
will travel" by the Sonics! Did some research
on all dis: through a Circus magazine '71 penpal got a copy of
Who Put The Bomp december '71. started
rock on fanzine march '72, musta got
Flash fanzine around then and editor Mark
shipper sold the Sonics-explosives album for $5 (now
$69.15 on discogs). "Have love will travel' fourth song first
side VINYL ALBUM. In Fusion magazine
(beacon street boston!) future Angry Samoan Mike Saunders
had raved about the Sonics (he also turnt me onto Uriah Heep and
Lydia Lunch spoken word: "the angry samoans? who knew?"
after my SUPPER with Lydia). Five bucks well spent on dis album
coz "he's waiting" became "kiss of a rat"
                (Gismos) august '73, riff-wise and 1998,maybe, got a $1000 royalty
check from Sator in Sweden for stealing said riff! I got more
                tails! Tails of Brave Ulysses!
