Tuesday, May 9, 2017 Jam for Jay, midway cafe, saturday 6 may 17. The Hendersons opened
up with "let's work together" and "goin' up the country",
so Bo Henderson and I had same Canned Highland albums. His clansman Jay
Scott Henderson (Henderson tartan) played lead on a Fender wheelchair-bound

during Doors "been down so goddam low, it looks like up to me". But
Bo REALLY shone on "let it rock" dedicated to charles edward berry
and it WAS the "Brown Sugar" maxi ep UK flipside, he playing so TOTALLY
Jimmy Miller-era produced Keef Richards and sax honkin' like Bobby Keys. Next
up, an all-Afro band name KO Stone Still Here, friends of Jay from 40
years ago (Jay said: "God bless and may the funk be with you") and
these guys were the BEST! Female singer sounding like 1974 Rufus and the rest
of pure unadulterated early '70s funk with one brutha dressed like SupaFly,
hope John Keegan got photos. (He idid scroll down to see 'em-ed)
  There was a lady dressed like Sly and the Family Stone doin' hula hoop also;
psychedelic soul! Jay Gruberger woulda LOVED it! Billy Squire did an
unplug set, Jefferson Airplane's "embryonic journey", one finger-pickin'
classic plus he DID play "stroke man" by his namesake. Mark Davis,
Neats et al. soundman and I watched the Kentucky Derby; "these horses all
suck today". Always Dreaming did win, Mark maybe got some dough on the
second horse....ah, bettin' like the Grubergers! The Wicked Pissa Band was
wicked pissa classic rock: "LA Woman", "Mississippi Queen",
then me and Peter Goutzos of Vinny Band did double drumming on chairs
to some Zepplein II song and "whippin' post". Then Bryn Carlson,
Dark Cellars, and I double drummed on chairs to "space truckin"..aren't
these O. Rex covers? Brian Young came up fronting a tight Thighscrapers
trio and "Live with me" was Dolls covering Stones! (as sure as i woulda
wrote this in O. Rextasy!) the queers "i met her at the rat",
other classic punk, good originals, recording an e.p. THE BEST I have seen these
guys, so please make note as John Keegan and I both agreed. Lastly, 1991 Red
House reunion, brothers Ron and Jay, bass/guitar, Edwin singing and, like
the white guy in Chambers Brothers, Bryn Carlson on drums! a good psychedelic/funk
groove with Jay wailing in a wheelchair, his spirit is so strong...Then tyme
for evening show but place was sold out and I believe Jay won $600 from raffle.
His raps are kinda Jimi at Monterey but to quote KO Stone Still Here: "I
known the brutha forty years and he aint never had no beef with nobody".
Maybe I should take lessons, though for a spell there, the two brothers DID
have beefs against each other, but in reality they are the KORPS of Red House!"......

 | Wednesday, May 10, 2017 "Sunday 7 May 17, Ken and Gee Julie COULD host Car Talk,
trip to watertown mass autozone, then Patel brothers, waltham with WNTN 1550
AM on car radio. After Grecian Echoes, a GREAT big band show, the Lutheran
Hour; I've traced Gee Julie's German Lutheran ancestors back to basically where
came Martin Luther, and ironically she's BEEN to Dresden AND seen Dresdon Dolls!
  Followed by Farrakan Speaks, which, to me, is a comedy show: "Ladies;
the Kor-an says BREASTS are "ornaments" so when you walk down the
street showing your ORN-a-ments"...Gee Julie: "he's a classically
  trained violinist". Me: "he
has calypso albums on youtube!" put John Kerry of the Elektras on bass?
then 430 pm til 6 pm: ANATOLIAN ECHOES! they have a twitter: fucken Turkish
music on AM radio! GREAT stuff, really, if you like Mediterranean music like
me. then maybe back to Greek music, but at sundown, mid-song...end of transmission!
sunup to sundown AM radio; THE last FREE radio in Amerika, First! (please
steal these quotes for Vulcher and "do you want to know a secret",
the Vulcher/Deezen/Gizmos are "game" for some Gizmos in chicago
ass end of July.... Thursday, May 11, 2017

Monday 8 May 17, my day in Dedham Mass. MBTA roulette at Forest Hills = 34, Dedham
line, so it was tyme to go back eleven generations and find Ma's ancestor James
Draper (wikipedia)
ordinary on washington and centre street, west roxbury. Ma's cuzzin Mary Draper
(wikipedia,
married to Moses who "left his plow in the furrow and went up to fight in Lexington),
has a playground dedicated to her (i-phone five photos). Then took the 34E walpole
bus TOO far and saw some awesome swamp Yankee land, lookin' like 1636 (i-phone
photo). walked to Dedham library and waiting for Gee Julie, whom did enjoy the
coffee houses, olde movie house, olde homes, olde churches, olde graveyards ALL
settled by Ma's ancestors, I discovered the Coast to Coast book
section, Dedham library! Coast to Coast 14 Sept 2009 had Mitch Horowitz
as guest with Occult AMERICA and the ghost of Jim Condon wouldnt
let me put this down! Frederick Douglass usin' John the Conqueror, Freemasonry
in early America, but keepin' it local to me: "in 1848 two sisters near Rochester
NY heard rappings on table" and thus began the Spiritualist movement in America
(other western NY thangs mentioned are of course GizMormonism etc., all IN Wikipedia,
known as the "Burnt-Over
District" but after watching Cavewoman hold a séance for some Brockport townie
that died in a bike crash at Jailbait Janet's house, I would rather call it the
"Burnt Out District". ). First Spiritualist Church of Quincy is RIGHT next to
Brian Young, Crash Course for the Ravers, Joe Coughlin's spirit
HAS appeared there! other book: The Secret History of the Kennedy Assassination
which I heard about on a 2015 Coast to Coast.....ok, the Mob did it and there's
a photo of Lee Harvey Highland in "Marines Him?" uniform".....

 | Friday, May 12, 2017 tuesday 9 may 17, zombies, wilbur theatre, boston. Colin Blunstone was
illin' and they cancelled but Jimmy Jay/WMEX DID honour the new date for Gee
Julie; as I waited for her, the door was filled with Boston band folk whom are
also RECORD COLLECTORS (JJ Rassler, of course was here FIRST in Boston)

and there's a photo of me and Des Desmond. opening song was "i love
you" and Martha Hull sang this People cover a LOT 1977 Slickee
Boys. They did some r&b off their first UK lp which differs from my
one dollar september '72 Parrot album, so Bo Diddley's "roadrunner"!
and on both pressings I forgot about "you really got a hold on me/bring
it on home to Eric Burdon" plus "tell her no" ALL those fucken
minor chords, who writes this shit? Ken Kaiser? doing a toon from Bunny Lake
is Missing blew my mind! especially since i havent youtubed the movie YET
but I bought Mad 1966 (age ten) and they did a parody so THAT was how
I first heard of the Zombies (in '72 Metal Mike Saunders did a Zombies
overview in Beacon Street, Boston's FUSION mag and 16 year old
Ken Highland bought all his Zombies records plus)...."hold your head up"-argent!
Argent's bassist/Rod argent cuzzin, a Kink and now a Zombie and his son on drums!
Maybe the first set ended with "Santana's Not There", intermission
then, fucken entire Odyssey/Oracle lp! what a forgotten classic! they
started recording the day sgt. pepper was released, 1 june 67, used john
lennon's mellotron and I just about shit when four surviving Zombies, in their
70s, from all my olde records onstage together! you'll even that with the Gizmos
sunday 23 july, chicago! Chris White on bass, such a plaintive voice, "No
Rose for emily" IS their "eleanor rigby" and then the song about
the trenches in the Great War....fuck.....Hugh Grundy just an amazing jazz-influenced
drummer, double-drumming with Jim Rodford's boy (Chris white's wife on harmonies!).
"time of the season", obvious, plus it ends Odyssey (I never made
a record that good.....no wait....Music to Kill By!)...and THEN: ENCORE!!!!
"she's not there" and Rod Argent (whom sang in a Church of ENGLAND
choir, I knew it! lotsa cool tails also!) did a nod to Spencer Davis during
the "She's not there" jam with "gimme some lovin'"/"i'm
a man"...so you got four Zombies, a guitarist, Rodford and son and Chris
White's wife RIGHTFULLY taking stadium bows! oh, yeah the 2000-whatever lp,
hard rock meets classical= Deep Purple on Tetragammon ca. 1968! in closing,
send money to children's book joins fight against deadly devil disease. why
not a Zombies cover band in Oz called The Tazzies?"......
