Sonntag 4 August 2024. An album embedded on my turntable
for a spell is a $3.99 Somerville Grooves 2020 purchase of Delaney
and Bonnie's Motel Shot. a May 1971 release I
never bought coz I wuz more enamored of the 23 april 71 of release
of Sticky Fingers. 45 wise "Never ending song of love"
was a May '71 release outshadowed by 16 april 71 release of "Brown
sugar". SO, "Surprise Surprise" on the D and B lp
is 'love's" b-side: Bonnie sings "Dont deceive please
dont go" a 1953 Okeh 45 by Chuck Willis. whom i turnt onto
coz derek and dominoes sang his "it's too late" on the
JR Cash show and i taped it wid a crappy Radio shack casette and
lissened to muchly. "Dont deceive" also on a 1958 Chuck
Willis album Chuck Willis Wailin' the blues now on my want
list! (that's record collector talk; records: "you're only
friend" as you listen to "The End"

Sonntag 4 august 2024. sometyme in my pre-Coast to
Coast aM slumber, WRKO 680 AM would broadcast the 1090
AM news. FINALLY some gud local newz! "The somerville
flea market has started up again"...this is the
Davis Square one, GREAT stuff! "and Hi-Fidelity vintage is
there"..."and here's Wylie, the owner"....nice guy,forgot
what he said besides "Lets go,let's go, let's go" (who
iz he hank ballard?) but DO like High energy vintage on facebook,
store iz great,they do good events, Ich liebe dich, jah,jah,jah

saturday 3 august 2024. "A not very august afternoon"
so i wuz listenin' to a youtube beach music mix-tape thang. What
iz dis great song by the Astors wid great giz-tar?! dat be "Candy"
by the Astors. written by steve cropper and isaac hayes ("well
right on"!) the band is Booker T and the MGs and that guitar
was steve cropper! It was a Stax record recorded in Memphis so it
gets called "southern soul"; soulbot.uk
says they at stax wanted a "Motown sounding record" and
it gets called a beach music classic. To paraphrase William Joel

of black oak arkansas's ma descends from a Connecticut
Yankee was a Southern sympathizer; my great-great grandmother Highland,
Ct. Yankee stock, but Michigan farmer wife. Before we "Rumble",
I found da Link! (Wray). Both mine and Jim Dandy's Ma's descend
from Deacon William Rockwell, from england's west country (0400
this morn on coast to coast AM, the subject wuz pirates
and THAT is the west country h'accent, mon!). ok, deacon rockwell
landed on the mary and john at nantasket beach and THIS descendant
(me) played the C-note, then 1635 was OFD (originally from Dorchester)
then 1638 onto Windsor Ct ("home of da she-wolf!") dying
in Windsor 15 May 1640. To make this even MORE Pynchon-esque,
there's a Founder's monument in Windsor Ct with deacon rockwell's
name; my ENO ancestor buried dere too (BEEN THERE!). So my mother
and Jim Dandy's ma descend from two of Deacon Rockwell's daughters;
JimDandy wuz on Findin your roots and Skip Gates asked him "you're
related to Kenne Highland; how does that make you feel?"

ah remember the Gizmos"....on our kinship to NORMAN Rockwell,
