Like Jonathon of butterscot, i DO have unopened bagz of records, mine from 2020 lockdown and somerville grooves, so for Santa Giz, it's ALWAYS Gizmas und Gut Tannenbaum to Flensburg! a five dollar copy of dave clark five's weekend in london; i went on a DC5 binge after a GREAT DC5 article by metal mike saunders in flash fanzine "Back in '72". let's focus on first song, side two "I'm thinkin'". flip side of dc5 cover of "reelin' and rockin" (a chuck berry b-side!) released 2 april 65, though i was more concerned with 1865/lincoln assaninaton/appamattock and "da night they drove ole dixie down". "ticket to ride" released 9 april 65, guess who had da bigger hit? dis album wuz a 1 march 65 release; beatles VI wuz a june '65 release; Get the Picture? "oh you pretty things"?.

The Korps recorded "I'm thinkin" when I wuz on leave (ala Elvis AND the Astors!) '79; Ken Kaiser wuz discovering Noke Edwards so he COULDA been "five years ahead of the Beachmasters tyme". 13 Feb 83 (days after my distant cuzzin Karen carpenter ist tort) I "re-wrote" the "I'm thinkin'" riff (which echoes the sonics "louie louie") into "Best friend" by dark carnival. Re-listening to this classic/much-loved/why did i sell it album, the vocals and the rest of the album sounds like Muck and the Mires on steroids! The Muck Clark Five!

Tuesday, August 13, 2024 Monntag 12 august 2024. "A hard day's night" so i walked past the Penalty Box's Last Call (met Smithereen Pat dere FORTY years ago!) and went to THE GARDEN where AMC kino thee-ate-er is. AMC DOES show Chinese movies but one I kinda liked was 8 pm so at 7 pm it wuz $7 for "Mystery Movie"; "winner by elimination" as gud as a paper bag of albums from Nuggets 12 for five dollars! SKINCARE isnt even due to be released til 16 august so dis wuz a SCREENING! IFC and all that...a "thriller" based on true story of a SkinCare "LA Woman" gaslighted by a "friend"....hey i even stayed awake! (that's a 10 outta 10 rating)

As a soundtrack wonk, it opens with Queens of Stone Age whom i liked in a Blue Cheer RockIronRoll kinda way; a skincare dude does karaoke to maybe a Cure song (wiki details on soundtrack not out til movie is released!) and last but not least: Klaus Nomi in a soundtrack that isnt Urgghh a musical war....GREAT movie, go see!

Seems he wuz a actor who did German-and-western songs, so all the Amerika First country songs I hear sung in German! (MY revolutuionary War ancestor Johann Youst went from Bavaria to west virginia, so "reincarnaion" says THAT the influence). on youtube! "Ich Bin Pleite"! a harlan howard song that I heard as a 1963 Ray Charles song called "Busted"! (a lament to being broke).Volker, ala Alan Freed, gives hiself songwriting credit: GONIFF! He also, as a actor, basically talks through his songs but that never stopped Lou Reed.

"Busted" was a 1976 b-side, running neck and neck wid O. Rex's 1976 release of "Kleiner Suzi" (covered by Erik Hysteric (Tort) and #13 in Floinsberg,deutshcland!) "Ich Bin PLeite" wuz also on the 1976 Volker Lechtenbrink album No. 2,though I wuz lissenin' to first Ramones album then (though Dee Dee's mutti ist Deutsch).
