"Sunday 29 August 21. In 1987 I was up the North Shore at a Mark Mayhem (RIP) party and met Joe Coughlin (RIP) for first tyme. Wicked stoned, Joe did a bunch of feedback guitar and I drummed and we called it Electric Spam. I was (wicked stoned) channeling Ron Bushy's superb "in-a-gadda-da-vida' drum solo (I DID watch some kinda video..stoned, man I WAS Iron Butterfly!). Back to 2021, sadly, my facebook friends John Kay and Steppenwolf said Ron Bushy had now joined Charlie Watts...dudes! 'in-a-gadda-da-vida' and "honky tonk woman' man...

BUT after Coast to Coast AM 0100-0500, OF COURSE!, hit the coffee pot and binged on MeTV 0500-0900! The Invaders, The Powers of Matthew Star (SO bad it only had ONE season 1982-1983 to which I had GOOD Hopelesly Obscure gigs!) and lastly TWO SOLID HOURS, drug: CAFFEINE of SAVED BY THE BELL! bad '80s clothes and funilly dumbass but they're partying in a car singing along to "Wild Thing". Reg Presley,Troggs singer, still alive in '92 and looking at crop circles but nice to hear him singing (read beyond our control '73 for Ken RAVING about Troggs on Bowie's Midnight Special, proving I aint changed nuthin' not even mah drawers!). I WAS calculating royalties though....so Chip Taylor wrote the toon and he's Midnight Cowboy Jon Voight's brother...thus....he is Angelina Jolie's uncle! And she damn sho' don' need no money".....

"Sunday 29 august 21, ALSO GG Allin's birthday (so I met Joe Coughlin (RIP) on GG's birthday)....BUT at noon I tuned into WNTN 1550 AM The BenchWarmers, a bunch of Greek-American Alta kakas talk sports (mostly local Boston teams) and 'we're going to the Saint Constandinos and Helen festival"; Gee Julie and I were at that Greekfest Freitag Nicht. Amidst their mishegas was talk of the B-12 shot which segued into "remember the B-52s?" Countered by "I saw the talking heads at U. mass - what a weird group", countered by a reference to "I love you you big gorilla". Now I pledge ANNUALLY to this show so I can jam in D on "white Rabbit' progressions (do I ever love greek music and wimmen!) but to hear THE DICKIES on AM RADIO with my garmooma (that's Moroccan-Arabic for geldt)…."Lazin' on a Sunday Afternoon/ I HATE the summetime"".....

"STILL GG Allin's birthday Sonntag 29 August 21. after my Willie loco nap, I caught Forrest Gump on AMC 2-5 pm. And my movie WAS interrupted by two texts from Dino records! 'dino records site is dinorecords.net'...."also the mastering on new Kenne cd being done New Alliance in Somerville. Nick the engineer (Nik Turner of Hawkwind?) worked on the rat docu-men-terry (starring terry brenner; they documented terry!) in some capacity". OK but Forrest...I COULD "rave on" about this movie and soundtrack (seen in many a Cambridge mass. bargain bin but NOT rubbing shoulders with the Residents or Afrika korps) but I will focus on 'Nam and the Doors. "break on through' on soundtrack but additional songs in movie NOT on soundtrack are soul kitchen/hello I love you/ people are strange; "the end' was in apoloclypse now. In the latest Ugly Things besides two John Rathbun 1629-1702 Block Island Rhode island descendants (Lizzard King and Gizzard King) is a splendid article on listening to the Doors and Hendrix in Vietnam! SO watch Forrest Gump (when Gump's high on coke and "freebird" keeps playin' faster and faster...I brought in 1976 passed out on a Highland Indiana floor and some '70s show reject bumped into the STEREO and knocked over "freebird" and the party MOANED! Two months later, Rich Coffee's band did first Gizmos!) AND buy Dino records and buy Ugly Things!"......

"day of WODIN 1 sept 21. Kenne Highland AirForce practice for frank Rowe's 70th Midway café sunday 12 sept 21 3 pm. Narrowed down a set list opening with "Be More Flamboyant' then the new songs I wrote during Co-Vig plus the Asa brebner toon being done on volume two: to channel my distant Rathbun cuzzin Jim Morrison, off'n Soft Parade I sang "Poor Asa dead and gone/left me here to sing this song/pretty lil gurl with the red dress on/poor Asa dead and gone'....Towards end of set captain easychord WILL be singin' Jimbo's "Five to One"...a lot of manic punk/psych was this. Al Hendry keepin' the beat, John keegan sounding like the clan mackay on sax (Roxy Music and/or Funhouse), Lt Larry Newman USMC and Nikki and Corvettes on bass (we did some silly Flo and Eddie spontaneous song doing doo-wop and Philly Soul impressions; maybe I should call the band The Hopelessly Absurb! Musik und Humour:: Flo and eddie open for alice cooper, Madison Sqaure garden Sunday 3 June 73). Captain easychord "Head in '73" (flip side of Erik Hysteric "Kleiner Suzi" von Deutschland); when he plays keyboards I always think he's going into "all the way from Memphis" PLUS Scotty Thurston with Stooges 31 Dec 73 Academy of music (we had a lot of Metallic KO grooves also which I LOVED! You WILL love this band! If not, liebe meiner arsch). Captain has now have a captain easychord powerhouse band: Captain-keys,vocals (he also jammed on Ringo's "it don't come easy") , Schmel herbie Hind ("the Armenian of the group") on guitar in maybe his fourth current band (?), Leon Rich (played with Anderson Mar,RIP)-bass and: Matt Burns of V on drums! Supagroup! SupaChick! Schmel herbie Hind broke out his Happy the Clown SG AND like February '85 johnny D's Allston: "dude you look like Tony Iommi!" PLAYED like him, leading captain and rest of gang to jam on Sabbath's "Paranoid" man...Lastly, my vocals hovered between Iggy on Funhouse or first Dolls album...oh wait! That was O. rex with Grubergers during '73! my guitar mostly had Gy. Sgt Byron Highland channeling the son of Lt. Ronald F Asheton (both USMC RIP "Questions 67 and '63)...I also tossed ten years After "Love like a man' into "tricked again"..."and our love began to MELT".....

"day of thor!!!! 2 sept 21. As I ate bufallo wings last night at the Independent and Fever Tree played over the p.a. system, I FINALLY finished The Great Santini. My father was a career marine stationed in the Carolina's in early '60s, I was number one son...ok I could relate, hadn't heard the beatles yet. Gee Julie said I should pass on the book to Lt larry Newman USMC and Nikki and the Corvettes (on Bomp!) and he said "have I got a book for you! ralph fatello (USMC AND Vinny band) gave me a book on the marines in Saipan to pass on'...The Boston Groupie Book Club?!?!?!? More "illusions from my childhood" (as the vanilla Fudge melts....); us highlands lived at Midway Island, Virginny and Tarawa Terrace NC (Quantico and Lejeune; read marine brat bebe Buell's STELLAR book Rebel Heart!); these addresses named for pacific island-hopping WWII battles...but enough krieg: MUSIK!!! If Six was Nine WMBR, stellar toons always but "Knock me down" by the Outlets: the best Generation X song Billy idol NEVER sang with green Day! from Boys Life versus the outlets split record. John Surette and Boys Life may have been more Jam inspired; records I heard ca. 1977 stationed at Fort Meade Maryland as the NSA went through my garbage. And during supper been tuning to Zuma Radio 740 AM Toronto Canada. A Canadian- artist oriented "oldies' station which I can pick up "back home" on ancient radios coz of proximity to Toronto; Canada rocks! Daily does of Ronnie Hawkins plus Bruce Cockburn reminds me of 0600 at the Tasty Dinner, Harvard Square, the fry cook always playing Brice Cockburn. Tonronto has good folk scene! (I wrote "Scorpio Queen" about Joni Mitchell! just look at my schnozz...it's got the irish curse! just not the rest of me! ("Kenne, they say you've got a toilet in Japan"-John Keegan to which I DID admit jay grubeger said that last tyme the Korps saw him alive)….Of course Little Richard at six pm is excellent too...whooo! he and I wrote "Jailbait janet"! Read about it ALl in ugly Things!"......

"Saturday 4 Sept 21. let me first promote two Kenne Highland's Air Force gigs coming up; Frank Rowe's 70th at Midway café 3 pm Sunday 12 Sept 21, then 1130 PM Pete's in Quincy Friday 15 oct 21. And without blathering on about Downton Abbey from 0500-0700 (DONATe to PBS!) I shall tell of a lil library box item I got at Citifeed, Jamaica plain, besides Great santini book. A cASETTE by Alex and the people, released 25 April 20 (OLD school!). boys Will Be Boys is the google-able title and there's facebook and youtube presence. They list their rootsy influences as "Jack White/Stones/ Joni "Scorpio Queen" Mitchell/ The Strokes" (a small Strokes story; 1990s hype, but some Monday night I was up to Charlie's Kitchen, Cambridge, mass.,some song comes on the jukebox echoing Lou's "I cant stand it"....DESPITE the hype, I put them in the Stones taking the blues further category (on Jeopardy?) only this was velvet Underground one step beyond BETTER critical acclaim, proving Amerika in 1967 didn't know scheiss from shinola about the mighty ahead of their tyme Velvet Underground). That said I found a good quote: "Alex and the people's "Boys Will be Boys" blends blues, garage and folk"...They have also played Midway café and Jamaica Plain Porchfest; two places I WOULD play with them! Surprise Surprise! (I think I saw the Fast do that Stones toon at cantones in '70s); new music I like coz it sounds Neu! (though if they sounded like Neu, I know SOMEBODY in Flensburg, Deutschland be happy)"....
