April 17, 2005

John Felice and Billy Cole will be playing at The Kirkland this Thursday, April 21st and …this Friday April 22nd The Bad Saints are at Sally O'Brien's which is near Porter sq, it's at 335 Somerville Ave., Somerville. (617-666-3589),,,the Preston Wayne Four will be at the Kirkland on Saturday, April 23rd. They will be part of NESMA'S surf fest, also on the bill are The Undertows, 9th Wave and SPF-4… BUT..that's NOT ALL for Saturday, April 23rd we got an urgent email from none other than Cowboy Mach Bell alertin' us to what's goin' on this here Saturday! Yup, it's that show we've been waitin' for! Mach says: "The Lipstick Killers make very rare appearances. They play a whole set of New York Dolls hits. All at full volume and in full drag. This time around I have been asked to join up w/ the Killers. It'll be my public debut as a bassist . I'll be stepping into the teetering platform boots of the late, legendary Arthur "Killer" Kane. Joining me will be Mach 5's new secret weapon Dee Stroy on guitar as Sylvain Sylvain. Members of the notorious Johnnies portray Jerry Nolan, David Johansen and Johnny Thunders. It is gonna be a huge night of trash rockin' action. Four bands. SUGABOMB starts it rolling at 9pm." So I say, don't' be late- get over there for 9PM coz the Midway is a small place and you don't wanna be told there's no more room coz it'll be PACKED!! That's this Saturday, April 23! And Next week on Friday, 4/29...you get to witness the all new MACH 5 @THE ABBEY ** 9:30pm! ** again from Mach Bell (he sends us lots of emails) "...as you probably remember (if not click here for story!!) Miss Lyn brought Jimmy Birmingham(Real Kids), Carl Biancucci (Classic Ruins) and Mach Bell (Thundertrain, Joe Perry Project) together when she asked us all to perform as a band at her birthday party last November. Now with axe-shredder Dee Stroy (Sugabomb) on board, the all-new MACH 5 returns to the Abbey. This will be a spectacular night of rock'n'roll. Boston's top band The Rudds and Albany's top band Super 400 are both on the bill along with the World's most handsomest band MACH 5! FRIDAY APRIL 29, 2005 - SOMERVILLE MA The Abbey Lounge 3 Beacon Street Somerville MA **EARLY SET!!! MACH 5 HIT THE STAGE AT 9:30!!!** " (end of email)...man, that Mach sure does get SO EXCITED, doesn't he????....now coming up for May : this sounds cool, probably lots of people we know: "Rock 'n' Roll Parents" portraits of local rockers and their kids by Kelly Davidson at Patti Hudson's Art Market Gallery, 36 south st. jamaica plain, ma the show runs from May 5 to May 15 with an opening reception: friday may 6, 6-9 pm then on Saturday may 7th at Midnight is The Late Risers Movie and You'll Pay For This (read my review) double feature at The Coolidge Corner Cinema and for info on the movie go to www.laterisersmovie.com ...also in May, the Bad Saints will be at the Overdraught on Friday, May 27th with Andrea Gillis....have an awesome week...talk to ya later...email me!!!!!!
