OK, big news…the fabulously handsome and personable Jimmy Birmingham, ex-Real Kids and now Mach 5 drummer was in a motorcycle accident this weekend..he's OK!!! YAY!! Glad to hear you're doing OK Jimmy!!!!! After spending the night in the hospital he's out and on crutches and thinks he'll be able to play the Mach 5 gig this Saturday, August 13th at Dodge Street in Salem…so all you North Shore gurls go to Dodge Street and show the fabulously handsome Jimmy how happy you are that he's he's still in one piece!!!!! And here's a reminder for you folks south of Boston: Cheryl Eagan-Donovan's Real Kids documentary, All Kindsa Girls is being shown at the Rhode Island Int'l Film Fest in Providence, RI thisWednesday August 10th at 3:30 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce Theatre and an added incentive for any BGN readers who venture down to the film fest next week, Cheryl will be hosting an after party immediately following the screening. You can get tix for the screening on-line at www.film-festival.org. ..... back in Boston, on the same night, Weds 8/10 at The Middle East Up are the Rotten Lovers (featuring Les Welter ex of Vision Decay a VISIONARY Boston band from the early days!!) along with The Picture Index, Kidnapkin, Victrola and Spanky Van Dyke so check 'em out, you can also check 'em out on line just click ....then on Thursday August 11th: at The Middle East Upstairs, 472 Mass. Ave. 9pm 18+ $9, World's Greatest Sinners, Sasquatch & the Sick-A-Billys and The Gobshites...then this Saturday, August 13th is Nancy Neon's b'day bash at The Kirkland Cafe w/ Fox Pass in the opening slot And to mention it again… Saturday, Aug 13th, the most handsomest band in the land MACH 5 will rock for two hours non-stop at Dodge Street Bar & Grill and then August 18th at TT's in Central sq- Mr Airplane Man doin' 2 sets along with Triple Thick and The Konks.....and… The Marvels are doing their LAST SHOW>,at the Abbey on Friday, August 19th, so be there to say good bye, ..and it's a killer show with Old Money, Lentell and The Curses and of course The Marvels, (they are also doing a show the next night at Geno's in Portland for all you Mainers)..... and then The Midnight Creeps >at TT's August 31st....and we're also looking forward to our incredible BOSTON GROUPIE NEWS presents MACH 5 at the ABBEY party... Just added - Five wild women known as the KILLER ABS just signed on!
